Naughty Dog Engine is a proprietary in-house engine developed by Naughty Dog and used across multiple console generations since 2007. First deployed on PlayStation 3 with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, it evolved through successive versions to support PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 titles such as The Last of Us Part II and The Last of Us Part I. The engine features advanced animation systems, dynamic lighting, and tailored optimizations for Sony hardware. It is not publicly available and is exclusively used by Naughty Dog.
