Instagram: outdoorboyschannelOutdoor Boys creator Luke Nichols is moving on from YouTube to become a spiritual advisor in the Mormon church as he continues to fill in for his friend on the MyLifeOutdoors channel.
Luke Nichols is a famous figure on YouTube. His channel, titled ‘Outdoor Boys,’ has racked up over 18 million subscribers who tuned in to watch his adventures roughing it out in the wilderness with his sons.
It’s been a decade since he started his channel in 2015. In May 2025, he broke the news that he would no longer continue creating content, stepping away from the limelight due to its impact on his personal life.
He briefly returned to the channel in November 2025, announcing the release of his final three videos before leaving his days as a YouTuber behind for good.

While he is currently filling in for friend and fellow YouTuber MyLifeOutdoors, Nichols is making good on his promise to pursue other ventures, as revealed in a tweet by the official Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints account.
According to the post, Nichols is one of fourteen men who are now serving on the Church’s Young Men General Advisory Council.
He began this role on December 1, where he will assist the Young Men General Presidency to help “counsel with other general and local Church leaders to teach, serve and watch over the young men of the Church.”
A post from the Church’s Newsroom reveals that Nichols is far more than a content creator; he also earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University, as well as a and juris doctorate from George Mason University.

He practiced criminal defense law with Nichols & Green PLLC, and at one time served as a full-time missionary in Fukuoka, Japan.
Reactions to Nichol’s latest move have been largely positive. This news follows the release of YouTube’s Top 10 ranked list of its best content creators from 2025, which included Nichols in the number 10 spot due to his surge in popularity this year.
