YouTube: Tristan JassTristan Jass has revealed that he is preparing for surgery after doctors discovered that a cyst on his brain now requires removal. Jass, 25, is one of basketball YouTube’s biggest creators with more than 5.6 million subscribers.
In a new YouTube video, Jass explained that he has dealt with seizures in the past. He said doctors first found a small cyst in his brain in 2019, and he has undergone regular MRIs for six years to monitor changes. His latest scan showed new developments that prompted the medical team to recommend surgery.
Jass shared a timeline of visits with doctors and conversations with family members as he laid out the steps leading to the diagnosis. He also posted on X that he has been preparing himself mentally for the procedure, writing that he is ready “to go to battle.”
Doctors found changes during latest MRI
According to Jass, doctors told him “we found something that we haven’t seen before,” leading to the decision to move forward with surgery. He said the video was meant to document his health journey and give viewers a clear look at what he has been experiencing.
Jass has built a major following through trick-shot content and basketball challenges, including viral one-on-ones with NBA stars such as James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Lonzo Ball. His recent uploads have earned more than 10 million views.
In the video, Jass highlighted the broader message behind sharing his diagnosis, saying viewers will encounter difficult and positive moments throughout life and that people can “go through anything and bounce back.”
This comes just after fellow YouTuber Brandon Buckingham revealed that he was diagnosed with heart failure and is in intensive care for treatment.
