How to start Mega Dimensions DLC
The Pokemon Legends Z-A DLC brings the Mega Dimension update to Lumiose City. Trainers can dive back into their journey alongside Team MZ members and other iconic characters they met along the way as the story expands into new, high-stakes directions.
If you’re wondering how to jump into the Mega Dimension DLC, you’ll need the right starting steps to unlock the fresh storyline, meet new faces, and discover a bunch of new Mega Evolutions.
Complete the main story
In addition to purchasing the Mega Dimension DLC, players must complete the base game’s main storyline to unlock all the new content. This means they have to get through Main Mission 37: Operation Protect Lumiose first.
Once they’ve battled all the waves of Rogue Mega Evolutions and defeated Hyperrogue Ange Floette, they’ll be able to access the post-game, which kicks off with Main Mission 38: The Future of Lumiose City.
After talking to Vinnie in front of the Prism Tower, players will be free to continue their journey as they please, whether it’s following the post-game, going Shiny hunting, or diving directly into the DLC.
Access the DLC
Once you’ve finished the main game and purchased the DLC, you must download the content and restart the game. After you jump back in, you’ll get a notification on your Rotom phone with a new Side Mission.
This Side Mission 120: Donuts of Unworldly Deliciousness! will take you to Hotel Z’s roof, where you’ll meet a little kid named Ansha and her companion, Hoopa.

Ansha will ask you and the rest of Team MZ to help her make a special donut for her Hoopa, but one of the ingredients is mission: butter.
Go to the market in Magenta District – Sector 6 and talk to the lady at the bread stall (you can follow the ‘!’ marker). She’ll mention there’s only one pack of Lumiosian Butter left, and Grisham and Tarragon will immediately appear to take it from you.
Fight them in a dual battle along Urbain/Tawni to claim the butter and go back to Hotel Z to give it to Ansha. Once the donut is ready, Ansha will run to the Saison Canalside at Jaune District (near the Justice Dojo), where she will make Hoopa open the first dimensional rift.
Enter the rift, split Team MZ into pairs, and explore Hyperspace Lumiose. You’ll come across a group of Lv. 110 Mankey, which you must defeat. Upon winning, find Ansha and complete the quest.
