QTCinderella tearfully hits back at Streamer Awards backlash as Ludwig & MrBeast chime in
YouTube: QTCinderellaQTCinderella, organizer and host of The Streamer Awards, was teary-eyed when responding to backlash from both viewers and fellow content creators, with both her partner Ludwig and YouTube star MrBeast chiming in soon after.
The annual Streamer Awards event is the biggest celebration of streaming-oriented influencers on the calendar. Having kicked off in 2022, QTCinderella has put together every iteration of the show.
The 2025 event, set for December 6, boasts a range of categories spanning Best Speedrun Streamer to best Stream Duo, and plenty more in between. Since early October, fans have been able to vote for their favorite personalities to be nominated in the appropriate categories.
Unable to please everyone, however, host QTCinderella has since faced backlash from multiple angles. Not only has she had heat from fellow streamers, but the audience too, resulting in a tearful response while live.
QTCinderella tearfully addresses Streamer Awards backlash
During her announcement stream, QT defended against accusations that certain streamers were blocked from particular categories. These “problematic people,” as one viewer put it, were just “never nominated” in the first place, she explained.
“Their audience doesn’t show up. It is always funny. Audiences will complain every year that they weren’t nominated, and then not do nominations on stream, or not tweet about it, or not ask their audience to vote for them.
In the hours that followed, criticism only mounted, and QT reached her breaking point. The straw that broke the camel’s back came when viewers brought up beefs between various streamers.
In short, clippers were tasked with grabbing footage of nominees 24 hours before the reveal. Some chosen clips featured streamers who’ve had altercations in the past. This led to a wave of backlash online.
“I can’t have an expert from every community come and give me the clips because then you guys would know the nominations… Jesus Christ,” she said. “I can’t crash out, but it’s like… Really?”

QT even went on to explain how she spoke directly with one of the streamers involved and that they’re not mad. “It’s you f***ing freaks that are mad for him!”
“It’s just so frustrating,” QT stressed. “I’m doing my f***ing best over here. I’m just so tired. I’m tired of crying.”
QTCinderella responds to Deshae Frost’s comments
Reacting to the Streamer Awards nomination reveal in his own stream, Deshae Frost erupted, yelling for QTCinderella to “shut the f*** up.”
“How incredibly kind,” QT replied on X (formerly Twitter). “Congrats on his nomination.
“I’ll try shut up during the show while all the streamers eat the dinner I paid for, be celebrated at the show I spent months working on, and enjoy their night hanging out with each other.”
Ultimately, QT shut down any notion of uninviting Frost, but expressed how frustrated she was receiving backlash from fellow content creators.
“What the hell did I do to you? Honestly, I expect the abuse from viewers, but my god does it feel like sh*t from my peers.”
Ludwig & MrBeast defend QTCinderella
All of this backlash, and plenty more, culminated in a post from QT’s partner, Ludwig, as he took the opportunity to defend her Streamer Awards event for another year running.
“Every year I see firsthand how much time, effort, and passion QT devotes to The Streamer Awards. And every year, she gets sh*t from every corner of the internet that feels they deserve more.”
This, in turn, drew MrBeast out, as he compared the situation to YouTube Rewind videos of earlier years, calling it the “same problem.
“Everyone thinks the creators they watch are what everyone watches. Truth is, online content is made up of hundreds of massive pockets of fandom.”
Deshae Frost apologizes to QTCinderella for “inconsiderate” behavior
Deshae went live on Twitch several hours after his remarks went viral, apologizing to QT for what he’d said during her nominations reveal stream.
“I was being inconsiderate,” he admitted. “I got dark humor, and sometimes, as a man, it gets the best of me. ….QT has done so much for the streaming community and creating this sh*t. At the end of the day, she doesn’t really have to.
“The fact that she does this for the community and puts this out for streamers, I’m very grateful. I’ve been streaming for almost two years, and seeing this, seeing what she’s done for the community, especially Black streamers, it’s been immense.”
Deshae went on to say that his nomination for the Streamer Awards was “the best day” of his life and promised to donate $500 to her charity stream.
For now, the 2025 iteration of the event is still moving forward unchanged. Despite the backlash, Deshae Frost has been invited, and QT will still host.
