Instagram: HasanPokimane has announced that her podcast with LilyPichu, Sweet N Sour, will go on a hiatus to “restructure” its staff after they refused to upload an episode with Hasan as its guest.
In a message posted on October 11, the podcast announced it would be skipping its scheduled Saturday upload due to allegations Hasan used a shock collar on his dog.
“This is a tough one to write, but we wanted to give you all a heads up that we’re unfortunately going to be missing our first scheduled Saturday video tomorrow,” they wrote. “We’ve been watching the recent drama unfold concerning our guest, and it’s been getting intense. We had a serious talk as a crew, and we all agreed that it did not feel right uploading tomorrow’s episode at this moment in time.”
The message was added that the decision was made to protect the podcast’s usual tone, writing that their goal was to keep the space “comfy” and “a true escape.”
Pokimane claims staff posted message about Hasan without approval
On Monday, October 13, Pokimane revealed that the episode was supposed to air “as usual” but the show’s staff “refused to upload it” out of fear that it’d cause drama.
“[They] also posted this statement without my approval,” she said. “Sorry guys! We’ll talk about everything on this week’s episode & go on a hiatus afterward to restructure.”
Hasan controversy explained
The controversy centers on a viral clip from Hasan’s stream showing his dog, Kaya, reacting off-camera after moving from a spot. Viewers claimed the reaction was caused by a shock collar, leading to widespread criticism across social media.
Hasan has denied using any shock feature, claiming that the collar only vibrates and that Kaya’s yelp was unrelated to the device. He later demonstrated the collar on stream and accused critics of misrepresenting the situation.
