Ironmouse/TheBurntPeanutVTubing star Ironmouse has doubled down in her defence of TheBurntPeanut after he won VTuber of the Year at The Streamer Awards, splitting the VTuber community.
On December 6, the 2025 edition of The Streamer Awards was held, celebrating some of the biggest stars in the streaming space. Kai Cenat swept up following Mafiathon 3, while IShowSpeed was named Streamer of the Year.
The VTubing community was represented with a VTuber of the Year award. While Ironmouse has typically been the standout name on that front, this year, the honor went to TheBurntPeanut.
However, the success of the Twitch streamer, who typically plays first-person shooters and ARC Raiders, has split VTubers across the board. Some, who are protective of their community, have attempted to claim that he isn’t a traditional VTuber and shouldn’t have been nominated in the category.
Ironmouse defends BurntPeanut from “cringe” hate
Since the win, Ironmouse has defended Peanut’s success, celebrating him and hitting back at critics. She did it again during her December 8 stream, calling it “cringe” that people are ‘blindly hating’ on Peanut.
“I don’t get it, I don’t get the hate, I don’t understand. People are like ‘he’s not a VTuber’, he literally is a VTuber, that literally is the definition of a VTuber bro,” Ironmouse said.
“I have people trying to convince me that he’s like bad, like ‘look, he’s said he hates VTubers, he said this, he said that’ and all I see are like clips of him doing bits. I’m like, is the hatred in the room with us? Where is it?

“Maybe I could have worded my tweet differently. People got mad that I said I was cringing, but I was just being honest, it’s cringe. It’s cringe to see people fling blind hatred at people, and it’s strange to me.”
Ironmouse noted that it reminds her of the backlash she faced after winning Creator of the Year back in 2023.
“It’s the same s*it, and I can’t see myself doing that to people, I just can’t,” she added.
