While the latter claim has not been publicly addressed by bbno$, he announced his ‘retirement’ from the music industry in a viral tweet on December 8, which he captioned, “Thank you for the memories.”
“As you guys know, I am for the people,” he wrote in a statement. “And the people have asked me to stop making music. Due to the millions of people begging me to stop, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to stop making music for the foreseeable future.”
bbno$ says online “negativity” drove him away from music
While the seriousness of his announcement is still up in the air, he opened up about the situation in a December 15 episode of the Fear& podcast, telling co-hosts Will Neff, AustinShow, Hasan, and QTCinderella that the online negativity toward himself and his fans became too much for him to bear.
“I’ve just been bullied online,” he explained. “I’m obviously a small little pillar of positivity online. I get messages every day from my die-hards like, ‘I can’t keep up with the negativity. I’m trying.’
