It: Welcome to Derry Episode 8 has some big shoes to fill after the devastating seventh episode finally saw the Black Spot fire unfold with some heartbreaking consequences for the kids. So here’s when It: Welcome to Derry Episode 8 is out. Major spoilers ahead!

Episode 7 mainly focused on the racist mob burning down the Black Spot with everyone trapped inside. In a heartbreaking moment, Rich (Arian S. Cartaya) convinces Marge (Matilda Lawler) that there’s enough room for them both to escape the flames in an old Coke fridge, but when she climbs in she realizes he’s lying to her.

He saves her by lying on top of the fridge to keep it shut, and they tell each other they love her in a true tearjerker moment. This is all without mentioning how Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) munches on Mr. Kersh (Larry Day) before Mrs. Kersh (Madeleine Stowe) confirms that she was the one who tipped off the mob so she could see her father again.

Although Pennywise intends to go to sleep after the Black Spot fire, the military incinerate the meteor chunk which causes him to wake up almost immediately — and we’re left on a cliffhanger where he attacks Will Hanlon (Blake Cameron James) while he’s home alone. “The second season will be in 1935. At the end of Season 1, we are hinting at the reason why we are going to tell the story in two more seasons and backwards,” he explained to Deadline. Audiences also got a glimpse of the 1908 timeline at the start of Episode 7, as the scene shows see Bob Gray performing as Pennywise before It lures him away into the woods.
