HBODerry needs to watch out, Pennywise is back. Yes, Bill Skarsgard has returned to our screens as the iconic clown, and that just makes the wait for It: Welcome to Derry Episode 6 feel even longer. Spoilers ahead…
Andy Muschietti proves you can teach an old clown new tricks in the fifth episode, as the kids go hunting for him in the sewer tunnels beneath Derry. They’re armed with the anti-anxiety medication that Lily (Clara Stack) stole from her mother (“mommy’s little helpers”) in the hopes that if they don’t feel fear then there’s nothing for Pennywise to feast on.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the soldiers who get attacked by Pennywise underneath the infamous Neibolt house. Then there’s the reveal that Matty (Miles Eckhardt) is actually Pennywise in disguise and has been dead this whole time…
But at least Lily stumbled on the Shokopiwah meteorite shard, and we get the proof that it works as Pennywise stops dead in front of her as she holds it in the sewer. Hopefully that’ll be enough to keep the kids alive at least till this hunting cycle is over… So what time is the next episode of It: Welcome to Derry out?

Horror fans not in the US will have to stay up late to watch It: Welcome to Derry Episode 6, or catch up the next day to avoid spoilers. We’re now getting to the back half of the season, so it’s great to finally see Pennywise back and on form.
But since we know the military aren’t present in Derry during the IT movies, their plan to control Pennywise is clearly not going to work.

How many episodes are there in It: Welcome to Derry Season 1?
HBO Max/YouTubeThere are eight episodes in It: Welcome to Derry Season 1, and while HBO hasn’t officially renewed it for Season 2, Muschietti has already revealed his three season plan for the show.
“The second season will be in 1935. At the end of Season 1, we are hinting at the reason why we are going to tell the story in two more seasons and backwards,” he told Deadline.
Fans already know that the first season is building up to the devastating fire that burns military bar The Black Spot down to the ground. But the second season will roll the clocks back to 1935 to look at the Bradley Gang massacre, a gruesome event where the Derry residents slaughtered the gang members in the streets after continuously terrorizing the town.
