Universal PicturesWe now know the title for the anticipated UFO movie from Steven Spielberg: Disclosure Day. This was revealed alongside a full trailer that suggests it will be one of the best movies of 2026.
2026 is shaping up to an exciting year for cinema lovers. We’re talking horror titles like 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple and Scream 7, franchise flicks such as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday, and Supergirl, and Christopher Nolan’s next film, The Odyssey.
And that’s before we get to Disclosure Day, a project that up until now has been shrouded in mystery. It marks Spielberg’s first new movie since 2022’s The Fabelmans, with an alien plot that looks like it could rival his 1977 sci-fi classic, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Today (December 16), Universal let us peek behind the curtain with a two-minute trailer, a title reveal, and a release date. Full disclosure: it looks incredible.
Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day gets first trailer
Disclosure Day is set to drop on June 12, 2026, with the teaser showing a series of clips reminiscent of Leave the World Behind and Signs, as Emily Blunt’s character says, “If you found out we weren’t alone. If someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?”
In an eerie follow-up clip, Blunt presents the weather before being overtaken by an extraterrestrial force. Josh O’Connor’s character then says he’s going to show “the truth” to the “whole world… all at once.”
