Comedy CentralThe South Park finale is upon us, so here’s when and what to expect from Season 28 Episode 5, which is titled ‘The Crap Out.’
Since launching in October of 2025, Season 28 of South Park has been in the news for multiple reasons, including episode delays and controversial storylines.
The overarching plot concerns Satan getting pregnant by President Donald Trump, who then has an affair with his Vice-President JD Vance, with whom he conspires to have Satan’s baby aborted.
Here’s how that might play out in the season finale, plus details of when and where to watch.
South Park Season 28 Episode 5 release date & time
Paramount+South Park Season 28 Episode 5 will air today, Wednesday, December 10, at 10pm ET/9pm CT on Comedy Central. It will then be available for streaming on Paramount Plus the following day, December 11, at 6am ET/3am PT.
Season 27 was initially reported to be 10 episodes long, meaning this upcoming instalment would have been that season’s finale. However, a split was made, meaning it’s now the five-episode Season 28 finale.
A representative retrospectively told The Hollywood Reporter that this was always the plan: to release Seasons 27 and 28 as five episodes each. Apparently, the fact that Season 27 was said to consist of 10 episodes was simply a mistake.
Season 28 release schedule and delays explained
Trey Parker and Matt Stone create each South Park episode on an ultra-fast turnaround timeframe, with each instalment written, animated, and voiced in just a matter of days so that they can respond in real time to current events.

It also means that episodes are frequently delayed, resulting in an unpredictable release schedule, or two week gaps between instalments rather than one, as happened with Season 28:
- Season 28 Episode 1 – October 15
- Season 28 Episode 2 – October 31
- Season 28 Episode 3 – November 12
- Season 28 Episode 4 – November 26
- Season 28 Episode 5 – December 10
What is the new South Park episode about?
Those tight turnaround times mean we don’t find out the plot or any other details until the last minute, but expect the South Park Season 28 finale to revolve around the birth of the Antichrist.
Comedy Central released a very brief teaser which kicks off with Stan saying: “that’s what everyone needs right now – a big Christmas miracle.”
We then glimpse Donald Trump and JD Vance raising money for the Salvation Army, though in reality those funds might be for that aforementioned abortion.
But the official synopsis suggests the baby will be born, as the log-line reads as follows: “Satan’s due, Stan’s praying, and only a Christmas miracle can deliver the Antichrist on time.”
The episode is also titled ‘The Crap Out,’ so will Satan be having a butt baby? You’ll just have to tune in to find out…
