Quentin Tarantino reveals why Fortnite animation Yuki’s Revenge was “too crazy” for Kill Bill

2025 is a big year for fans of Kill Bill. Volumes 1 and 2 have been combined for forthcoming theatrical release Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, which hits screens on December 5.
While an animated sequence that was written for the movie, but never shot, has now been animated and dropped into Fortnite.

How Fortnite convinced Quentin Tarantino to debut lost Kill Bill chapter in game
Yuki’s Revenge follows the titular twin sister of Gogo Yubari as she stalks Uma Thurman’s The Bride to avenge her sister’s death. When asked why it wasn’t included first time around., Tarantino explained (via THR): “We couldn’t do it, it was just too crazy, it was just too much action.”
But then decades later, the Fortnite opportunity arose during a conversation with Epic Games. Tarantino explains: “I showed up to the meeting thinking that they would want to license characters and they want to get my ideas about what could be a fun thing to do. But no, they had something else in mind.
“They very innocently asked me, ‘Do you have something that’s, like, eight to 12 minutes long that could be good for our purposes?’ Now they didn’t say, ‘Can you make sure that your iconic characters are wrapped up inside of that?’ But that was implied.”
