Pluribus hit Apple TV on Wednesday last week but Episode 6 is dropping on a different day this week, so here’s everything you need to know about when to tune in.

Pluribus is one of the most talked about shows on TV right now, thanks to its fiendish story of a mind virus glueing everyone on the planet together mentally, save for a handful of disparate souls who become our only hope.

That set-up has triggered wild theories concerning the hive mind and potential connections to protagonist Carol Sturka, whose name might also be a clue to where the show is heading.

Episode 5 featured the darkest Pluribus twist yet, while Episode 6 is dropping on a different day this week, with full release details below…

What is Pluribus about?

Zosia hanging out with Koumba in Pluribus.

The brief synopsis for Pluribus is that “the most miserable woman on earth must save the world from happiness.”

Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn plays the woman in question – an author called Carol Sturka – whom everyone on the planet suddenly wants to make happy, with the whole world turning into a placid, peaceful, and kind hive mind.

That story has a deeper meaning connected to what Vince Gilligan is observing in society at present, with the Pluribus creator telling ScreenRant: “Would this be so bad in some sense? Could it not be paradise? And that’s completely up to the viewer to decide for themselves.

“I’m not telling anybody how to parse that. But I’d like to think people could watch this and say to themselves, ‘Maybe there is another way other than what we got going on in America right now.’”

What the viewer takes away from the show will be very much up to them, with Gilligan adding: “TV is just TV – it’s not a cure for cancer, never was, never will be. But I’d love to think that people will watch this show and think to themselves, ‘I don’t necessarily want to live in that world, or maybe I do.’ We work really hard to make this a different kind of apocalypse.”
