NetflixThe final clay torsos have been smashed, as the Physical: Asia winners have been decided. Out of eight nations, only one team takes home the cash prize and claims victory as the strongest country in the competition.
A spinoff to Physical: 100, the Netflix series sees teams of six top athletes from eight countries (Korea, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Mongolia, Australia, and Turkey) as they battle it in a series of gruelling tests of endurance, tactics, teamwork, and strength.
Going into the finale, there were four teams in the running, which was cut down to three finalists following the latest Death Match. All of it has been building toward this moment: one nation standing victorious above the rest.
As well as pride, the country in first place also bags a one billion won ($700,000) cash prize. Although we had our predictions of who might win, no one could know for certain… until now. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Physical: Asia winner
NetflixThe winner of Physical: Asia is Team Korea.
Their team includes:
- Kim Dong-hyun, MMA fighter
- Kim Min-jae, ssireum wrestler
- Jang Eun-sil, wrestler
- Amotti, Crossfitter
- Choi Seung-yeon, Crossfitter
- Yun Sung-bin, former skeleton racer
They made it to the final alongside Team Mongolia, where the two competed in a series of three games: wall-pushing, iron ball dragging, and infinite tail tagging. Ultimately, Korea came out on top, but Mongolia put up a good fight.
In their final thoughts, Kim Dong-hyun says, “I was an MMA fighter for about 20 years, and throughout all those years, the championship belts, all those gold medals, they were always out of reach. Maybe I was unlucky, or maybe I just wasn’t good enough.
