Netflix Physical: Asia has finally finished, but Netflix is already hard at work developing a number of other Physical: 100 spinoff shows for the future. Spoilers ahead.
The most recent Physical series saw teams from Korea, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, Mongolia, Indonesia, Turkey, and the Phillippines take on extreme, bicep-bursting challenges over 12 episodes. The prize? One billion Korean won and the bragging rights of being the strongest country on the continent.
Team Korea came out on top after narrowly beating Team Mongolia in the final match, which delivered a pulse-pounding finale. The series expanded what Physical: 100 can do, and opens the doors for even more competitions around the world.
Fans of the series will understandably be desperate for more Physical: 100 spinoffs, and we have some excellent news: the franchise is only going to get bigger now that Physical: Asia has finished.
Physical: Asia roducer Jang Ho-gi teased Physical: US and four other Physical: 100 spinoffs
NetflixPhysical producer Jang Ho-gi opened up about where the series will head next in a lengthy conversation with Deadline, saying “The whole tagline of the show is to transcend race, genders and borders, so we always wanted to expand.”
He explained that although the show started as “Korean-centered” they are moving west for the next shows, saying; “Our entire goal was to slowly expand to other countries, with our spin-offs in the pipeline for Physical: US and Italy.
“We thought that instead of going for Physical: World from the get-go, maybe it’s better to start off with our neighboring nations first,” which means that a Physical crossover will head to the streamer in the future. Plus, Netflix confirmed in July that a European spinoff is also in the works.
Surely Physical: World will be an Avengers-like event filled with rippling muscles and extreme challenges. Ho-gi also revealed the two countries he’s desperate to make a Physical spinoff for, and they don’t sound impossible.
