SHIFT UP The next Stellar Blade game is already picking up momentum, and a new job listing from Shift Up suggests the sequel might arrive on more platforms than expected.
The original Stellar Blade launched as a PlayStation exclusive before making the jump to PC, where it surged in popularity and hit approximately 200,000 concurrent players. As such, the PC version became a major part of the game’s rise, proving there was a massive audience outside the PlayStation ecosystem.
Shift Up has already confirmed that a second installment is on the way, promising a follow-up that builds on the original’s memorable style, action, and world. Now, a fresh job listing is adding fuel to the idea that the sequel could expand far past Sony hardware.
Stellar Blade could be multiplatform according to job listing
The listing, once translated into English, calls for candidates across several roles, seeking people skilled in 3D background art, 3D character art, background concept art, monster battle design, PC battle design, level design, system design, scenario writing, technical art, engine programming, client programming, and composition.
SHIFT-UPContinuing on in the job listing, Shift Up states that Stellar Blade is “aiming for release on various platforms, including consoles and PC” and that “the game will inherit the original IP’s stylish action and narrative-driven worldview from its predecessor, delivering an evolved action experience.”
Interestingly, the listing does not reference PlayStation specifically when mentioning consoles, which opens the door to the possibility of an Xbox version as well as a day-one release on PC, marking the series’ first true multiplatform launch if it plays out.
