What are Prospecting codes used for?

Prospecting codes are mainly used to give you Cash and Shards, two of the most important resources in the game. Cash helps you upgrade tools, repair equipment, and purchase essentials that let you dig deeper without constantly heading back to the surface. On the other hand, Shards can be exchanged at the Shard Merchant to obtain different potions that can affect attributes like luck.
