There are four Deoxys Formes available in Pokemon Go – Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed – but which one is the best to catch and power up?

Unlike most Legendaries and Mythicals in Pokemon Go, there are actually four different versions of the Hoenn region’s Deoxys available to catch, and each one has its own unique moveset and stat distribution.

While many trainers will want to catch all four Deoxys Formes to add to their Pokedex, the next step is figuring out which is worth powering up, as they’ll require a lot of time and resources to max out.

Here’s a look at Normal Forme Deoxys, Attack Forme Deoxys, Defense Forme Deoxys, and Speed Forme Deoxys to see which one reigns supreme.

Best Deoxys Forme in Pokemon Go

The best Deoxys form in Pokemon Go is without a doubt Defense Forme Deoxys. It has an impressive Defense stat (330), a great move pool including the brilliant Fast Move Counter, and enough bulk and coverage options to outlast plenty of opponents.

Players might be tempted to invest in Attack Forme Deoxys, especially considering it has a huge base Attack stat (414), but with a shockingly bad base Defense stat (46), it simply won’t last long enough to be effective in many situations.

Normal Forme Deoxys does show some PvE potential, but there are far better options out there. Finally, Speed Forme Deoxys is the worst of the bunch, largely because Speed stats aren’t a thing in Pokemon Go competitive mode.

When do the Deoxys Formes return to Pokemon Go?

All four Deoxys Formes — Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed — have made their debut in Pokemon Go, along with their Shiny variants.

Unlike most of the Mythical Pokemon, they only appear in 5-Star Raids and follow the game’s rotating Raid schedule, meaning their availability changes from season to season and is unpredictable. This means it’s key to stay updated with the Pokemon Go events and Raid rotation.

Deoxys Formes often return individually or in pairs during limited themed events or seasonal rotations, with each variant also cycling back for Raid Hours appearances.

The Tales of Transformation season was the latest one to feature all four of them, and they appeared as follows:

• Normal & Defense Forme: October 7 – October 14
• Attack & Speed Forme: October 14 – October 21

The first two had their Raid Hour on October 8, 2025, while the other two had it on October 15, 2025.

It’s unknown when they will return to the game, but with some Mythicals being out of rotation for months or even years, it’s definitely a good idea to catch the Deoxys Formes available while they’re still around.
