DEXERTOA huge event schedule is underway for Pokemon Go in December 2025, alongside the weekly Spotlight Hours and monthly Community Days, celebrating everything from the Journey to Paldea and Well Armed events.
Below, you’ll find information on every upcoming event happening this month, alongside details on its Spotlight Hours, Community Days, and any Research Breakthroughs.
Upcoming Pokemon Go events in December 2025
Well Armed (December 11 – December 16)
NIANTICThe Well Armed event kicks off December 11 and runs until December 16, debuting the Clobbopus family (Clobbopus and Grapploct) as new wild spawns, along with boosted appearances of Machop, Makuhita, Poliwag, and more.
It also brings heightened Shiny odds for Dynamax Hitmonchan and Dynamax Hitmonlee, x2 Candy for catches, event-themed Field Research, and even extra Candy and Candy XL from Max Battles.
Winter Holiday Part 1 (December 18 – December 24)
NIANTICThis year’s Winter Holiday Part 1 event brings new costumed Pokemon – including holiday-attired Sudowoodo, Charjabug, and its evolution Vikavolt – plus a boosted chance to hatch Shiny versions of Pichu (wearing a festive hat) and Cubchoo (with a holiday ribbon) from 7 km Eggs.
Event-themed wild spawns like Swinub, Snorunt, and Spheal will appear, along with festive Raid line-ups and bonus rewards via the seasonal GO Pass, making this one of December’s biggest celebrations.
Celestial Research Day (December 20)
The event – happening Saturday, December 20, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time – features Lunatone and Solrock as the headliners, with event-themed Field Research tasks granting extra encounters and a boosted chance at Shiny versions.
There’s also a Paid Timed Research for trainers who want more chances, along with XP and Stardust – but you’ll need to finish and claim rewards before the event ends.
Winter Holiday Part 2 (December 24 – December 29)
NIANTICWinter Holiday Part 2 runs from December 24, 2025, to December 29, 2025, brings the debut of Rolycoly, Carkol, and Coalossal to Pokemon Go.

Moreover, trainers can catch icy favorites like Galarian Darumaka, Bergmite, Cetoddle, and holiday versions of Dedenne. Plus, hatch Pokemon wearing festive attire from 7 km Eggs.
There will also be festive bonuses, event-themed spawns and Raids, a Field Research, and GO Pass milestones that unlock useful perks like reduced Egg hatch distance and boosted Raid XP.

Journey to Paldea (December 2 – December 9)
NIANTICThe Journey to Paldea event in Pokemon Go ran from December 2, 2025, to December 9, 2025, and brought the Paldea region to your map with the debut of Nacli, Naclstack, and Garganacl.
Players could also expect double XP for winning Raids and evolving creatures. Plus, increased Shiny chances for Larvitar and Bagon, Timed Research, Collection Challenges, and wild encounters with Paldean-region Pokemon.
December Community Day (December 6 – December 7)
NIANTICThe December 2025 Community Day brought back every featured Pokemon this year, giving trainers a final chance to catch missed Shinies and evolve them to obtain exclusive moves. With a stacked schedule, it was essentially a year-end victory lap for collectors and PvP grinders alike.
Niantic also rolled out premium bonuses, including boosted XP, extra Stardust, reduced hatch distance, and extended Incense and Lures. Special evolutions and cheaper trades round out the event, making it one of the most rewarding weekends of the entire Pokemon Go calendar.
City Safari: Miami (December 13 – December 14)
NIANTICPokemon Go’s City Safari: Miami turned the city into an open-world event with themed habitats, Stamp Rally rewards, and exclusive spawns across iconic areas. Ticket holders were able to unlock special encounters, including Explorer Hat Eevee, plus bonuses designed around real-world exploration.
The event could be played anywhere in Miami, with community meetups and lounges offering ideal spots to trade and rest.
Gigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day (December 14)
NIANTICGigantamax Snorlax Max Battle Day took place on December 14, 2025, and players got a fresh shot at battling the gigantic Snorlax, with the chance to catch a Shiny version if luck is on their side.
The event came stocked with bonuses, including a higher Max Particle limit, more frequent Gigamax–ready Power Spots, increased Remote Raid caps, and two extra special trades. Plus, a Timed Research that rewarded trainers with Dynamax Machop and more!
Pokemon Go December 2025 Spotlight Hours
There are five Spotlight Hours to look forward to in Pokemon Go this month, which we’ve listed below:

Spotlight Hours take place every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time and offer exciting bonuses. Prepare for them by stocking up on Poke Balls and clearing out your Pokemon storage.
