SupercellWhether you’re diving into Brawl Stars for the first time or are a long-term player, it’s essential to keep up with which characters are the best Brawlers in the current meta.
As a mobile gaming sensation with an ever-expanding number of Brawlers to choose from and unlock, not all of them are created equal — with some wielding better abilities than their counterparts and being much stronger overall.
Below, you’ll find out exactly where each character sits in our regularly updated Brawler tier list. The meta will continue to change as new updates arrive, but our rankings are up to date as of December 2025.
Brawl Stars character tier list
Brawl Stars has tons of characters across different roles, and let’s be honest, some are just way better than others. In the tables below, we’ll go over the best of the best and the ones you might want to steer clear of.
Note: Use the ‘Filter Brawler’ boxes below to quickly see if your favorite Brawler is placed in a particular tier.
S-tier
Brawler | Reason for ranking |
|---|---|
Cordelius ![]() | Cordelius’ Super sends enemies into the Shadow Realm, where they can’t use their Supers, Gadgets, or charge their Hypercharge. He’s highly effective at countering and shutting down a wide range of Brawlers. |
Ollie ![]() | One of the best tanks in the current meta, he has high health and can charge his Super whenever he’s attacked by enemies. When he takes enough damage, he can quickly unleash his Super back onto his opponents. |
Otis ![]() | Otis' strong crowd control and utility make him a solid pick in the right matchups. And with his burst reaching around 1,000 damage per shot, he can turn into a complete nightmare. |
Max ![]() | Thanks to her Hypercharge rate getting buffed, Max is now a strong meta pick with valuable utility and team-wide speed. She also counters Kaze, who’s currently one of the strongest options. |
Ruffs ![]() | Ruffs brings a great mix of team support and utility, thanks to his buffs that grant allies increased damage and health. Additionally, he has a fast charging hyper that makes him even more deadly. |
A-tier
Brawler | Reason for ranking |
|---|---|
Jae-young ![]() | An amazing support with tons of utility, Jae-yong is an excellent pick for a wide variety of team comps. He can heal and speed up allies, as well as slow nearby enemies. |
Byron ![]() | Byron’s ability to deal damage while consistently healing allies makes him a valuable Support pick. He also has great synergy, since he can pair well with almost any other Brawler. |
Hank ![]() | Hank’s unpredictable playstyle makes him a chaotic threat. His Balloon Blast can easily catch enemies off guard, especially when you bait them before firing. |
Mina ![]() | While not the strongest Brawler anymore, Mina still deals massive damage and has incredible carry potential. Her mobility, survivability, and combo potential let her secure kills and escape with ease. |
Kenji ![]() | His damage output and survivability allow him to shred enemies and make him a nightmare to face in 1v1 situations. Even after the nerfs, he’s still a solid pick. You just need the right build to get the most out of him. |
B-tier
Brawler | Reason for ranking |
|---|---|
Kaze ![]() | Kaze still hits hard and moves fast, but her burst isn’t as explosive after the damage and dash nerfs. She has to pick her engagements more carefully now. Even so, her two forms keep her flexible in almost any matchup. |
Finx ![]() | Finx’s utility-based kit gives his team a major tempo advantage, especially on open maps. However, his low burst damage leaves him vulnerable against aggressive comps. |
Amber ![]() | Amber provides strong area denial with her flames, effectively zoning and pressuring enemies. However, she’s highly map-dependent and struggles to melt opponents who can dash away or heal. |
Stu ![]() | Stu is a fast and flashy assassin with high mobility, solid burst damage, and a Super that leaves a fiery trail, damaging any enemies who touch it. While he’s effective against medium-HP anti-tanks, he struggles in tight maps or control-heavy modes. |
Rico ![]() | Rico is a high-skill, high-reward Brawler with strong sustain, thanks to his gadget that allows him to self-heal. That isn’t enough to make up for his low base HP, and he remains difficult to master. |
C-tier
Brawler | Reason for ranking |
|---|---|
Mico ![]() | Mico’s mobility makes him fun to play, but he’s not the most reliable pick, since his low health, short range, and slow reload hold him back. |
Colette ![]() | Colette’s situational, so while she shines in modes like Heist and Brawl Ball, she stays in C-tier overall. |
Eve ![]() | Eve’s slow-moving projectiles make her easy to predict and counter. She’s not the worst Damage Dealer, but plenty of other Brawlers do the job better. |
Spike ![]() | Sure, Spike’s got long-range, high-damage attacks, but he’s pretty situational and vulnerable with low health and a slow reload. |
Chester ![]() | Chester’s a bit of a wildcard. His Super can do different things, but you never know which one you’ll get. |
D-tier
If you’ve not seen your favorite Brawlers mentioned in the tiers above, they’ll be at the bottom placement of our overall tier list, meaning they’re the least impactful characters in the current meta right now.
There are too many better alternatives you could be using, so we’d advise against picking any of them, especially if you’re looking to compete in the more competitive side of the game
Brawler | Role |
|---|---|
Sam ![]() | Assassin |
Edgar ![]() | Assassin |
Jessie ![]() | Controller |
Pam ![]() | Support |
El Primo ![]() | Tank |
Our tiers explained
- S: The best Brawlers in the game — they all excel in most situations and should be prioritized above.
- A: Very good Brawlers. Not as strong as the S-tier, but all solid choices that you can rarely go wrong with.
- B: These Brawlers don’t come close to S and A-Tier characters, but still have some good merits.
- C: Only use these Brawlers if they’ve got an ability or playstyle that sticks out to you.
- D: We’d advise avoiding these Brawlers entirely, choosing alternative options from higher in the tier list.
Meta analysis
The latest balance changes have shaken up the meta again. This time, it’s mostly about toning down brawlers who’ve been a bit too strong with burst, mobility, or long Hypercharge times. So, a lot of the old S-tier picks have dropped off.
Related
Mina took one of the biggest hits. She’s been S-tier for ages, but with her damage and HP nerfed, she’s slid down to A-tier. She’s still solid, but now you’ve really got to play safe with her.
Kaze got hit pretty hard too, dropping from S- all the way to C-tier. She used to tear through enemies with ease, but shorter invisibility, a slower dash, and lower starting Super damage really hurt her kit.
Cordellius lost a bit of his aggressive edge, but he’s still S-tier, as he can dish out a lot of value if you play your cards right.
Meanwhile, Byron’s Hypercharge got cut in half and his projectiles are a bit slower. He’s still great for long-range poke, but lane control isn’t as oppressive anymore. That puts him in A-tier now instead of S.
On the flip side, Max, Otis, Gray, and Lily have jumped into S-tier and they didn’t even get buffs. The meta just shifted around them, and now their strengths really stand out. Max and Otis were already solid, but now they’re basically must-picks.
