Rockstar GamesSeveral items of clothing for Grand Theft Auto 6 have seemingly been found in GTA Online’s newest update, and one of them has been hiding in plain sight for years.
For years, Grand Theft Auto fans have suspected that Rockstar Games have been hiding hints about GTA 6 in GTA Online. They’ve searched high and low in Los Santos, looking for any sort of insight about the long-awaited game.
As things have ramped up in Grand Theft Auto 6’s development, there have been elements from the new game slipping into GTA Online. Some of these have been subtle, like car liveries with Vice City mentioned on them, while others have been brand-new vehicles.
Following on from the November 13 update, which included some set-up missions for the Masnions update that is coming in December, a few other notable things have been spotted.

Leaker Lucas7Yoshi noted that the code strings for several clothing items now resembles Rockstar’s work on Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 6, not GTA 5 or GTA Online.
“RDR2 & GTA 6 use PBR (physically based rendering) rendering, they also use a new system for characters called “metapeds”. Subsequently, the clothing assets texture naming changed quite a lot,” the leaker explained.
“Below is comparisons of normal GTA 5 naming, RDR2’s naming, and the boxers which have naming more inline with RDR2/GTA6.”
The most notable item of clothing, especially for long-time Grand Theft Auto fans is a set of boxer shorts with love hearts splattered all over.
These have been referenced in GTA since San Andreas and Liberty City Stories. However, this particular pair has been in GTA Online since 2014’s Valentine’s Day massacre update.

“A couple of assets inexplicably have PBR texturing, but that could be assets destined for gta 5 created by artists using the incorrect workflow,” the leaker added. “The metaped naming is the most explicit confirmation this was intended for GTA 6, as this isn’t even proper clothing its used for.”
As noted, Rockstar has seemingly backported a few items over the last few years and months, so don’t be shocked if you get to Vice City and see these there too.
