KiwiTalkz, the YouTuber who has interviewed a number of Rockstar Games developers, has downplayed claims that a Switch 2 version of GTA 6 is in the works.

Grand Theft Auto 6 remains the most anticipated game around, even after developers Rockstar Games announced that it’s release date would be pushed back again. GTA 6 will now release on November 19, 2026, rather than May 26, 2026.

That added time, the developers say, will allow them to deliver the game that “everyone expects” with the polish it needs. The delay was an additional blow to PC gamers, though, who are already expecting to wait around a year from GTA 6’s release to get their hands on their version.

However, the delay also opened up rumors that Rockstar are developing a version of GTA 6 for Nintendo Switch. Leaker Nash Weedle claimed that the Switch 2 port has already been tested, and that was backed up by NateTheHate.

Yet, Kiwi Talkz, a YouTuber who has interviewed a number of Rockstar developers and provided some insight into GTA 6’s development, has hit back at those now viral claims.

“NateTheHate saying Rockstar tested GTA 6 on Switch 2 doesnt mean anything, Rockstar tested putting GTA V on Wii U and that went nowhere,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“Devs test putting games on hardware all the time, don’t take it as confirmation that it is happening.”

The YouTuber fielded a number of questions from GTA fans who wanted a bit more insight on his belief.

“I am saying its not confirmation that it WILL happen. They tested GTA V for Wii U (it didnt come out) They tested RDR2 for Switch 1 (it didnt come out),” he added.

“So Rockstar doing a test doesnt mean it will become a thing, all it means is they tested it. GTA 6 won’t run on Switch 2 without serious, serious compromises.”

As it stands, Rockstar have only mentioned the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X as release platforms for GTA 6.

They’ve been noted at the end of both trailers so far, with nothing about Nintendo’s console.
