YouTube: Habie147If working from home and staring at the same four walls all day is getting boring, then this YouTuber might have found the solution, as he’s found a way to work his 9-5 job from Skyrim.
Despite being 14 years old, fans are still finding new and increasingly insane ways to play Skyrim. From one player who made his goal to murder every NPC, to the countless mods that let you ride monsters, the possibilities are seemingly endless.
But can you work an actual job in this world of magic and dragons? Well, with the help of VR, YouTuber ‘habie 147’ has proven that you can. Kind of.

He started it as an experiment to help him resist the urge to check his phone while working and distract himself from the task at hand, with the idea being that if his surroundings were so beautiful and serene, he could become the “perfect employee.”
So, using Steam VR, he was able to set up his ‘office’ at a remote campsite. Here, he outlined his main goals, which included scheduling marketing emails, finishing a PowerPoint presentation, and, crucially, not getting fired.
It was all going pretty well, until he was forced to fight off a thief. This encouraged him to move into a peaceful creek to listen to the sounds of flowing water while he worked, but a circling dragon quickly put an end to that.
To try to get away from the randomly spawning enemies, habie147 then fled underground to Blackreach. This worked a treat, and it actually “freaked” him out how much work he was able to do without even thinking of reaching for his phone.

But he had to leave when the droning background noise started to drive him insane, so he set off in search of somewhere “as remote as an underground cave but as beautiful as an enchanted forest.”
Where did he decide to go? The top of a mountain, of course. He hauled his laptop up to the snowy peak, used console commands to spawn the aurora borealis in the sky, and the vibes were immaculate. He was able to answer some Slack messages and even take a phone call overlooking the Skyrim map.
“Here’s the thing that sucks. This works,” habie147 said at the end of the video, but there was one problem — the weight of the VR headset. “I made it through this whole day, dare I say more productive than usual. The only issue was that by the end of the day, my face felt like it was about to fall off.”
So, if you’re getting tired of working from the same old room and can handle wearing a headset all day, maybe you should consider swapping your office for Whiterun.
