NetEase GamesWhere Winds Meet has hit another major milestone, with the developers confirming that the global version of the game has received a whopping 15 million players in just one month.
On December 14, the devs shared the news alongside a message thanking the community for helping turn the wuxia RPG into one of the year’s biggest breakout hits. The surge follows the launch of the mobile version, which went live on December 12 and helped fuel another wave of new players worldwide.
This achievement adds to an already remarkable run for the game, where it pulled in nine million players in its first two weeks and hit an all-time Steam player count of 251,008 concurrent players on November 23, 2025.

Even the developers were surprised by the scale of the response. Lead Producer Beralt Lyu admitted the numbers went far beyond internal expectations. “We hoped it would find its audience, the players who would love the freedom and mystery we tried to create,” he said in a December 7 interview with FRVR.
“But nine million players in two weeks… that number has honestly blown all our internal expectations out of the water.”
That momentum has helped cement Where Winds Meet as one of the standout releases of the year. The game has even secured a spot on Dexerto’s Best Games of the Year list, alongside acclaimed titles such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Hades 2.
The milestone also comes shortly after the release of Version 1.1, a major update that introduced a fully expanded Kaifeng map, a new sect, fresh campaign chapters, new outfits, seasonal events, and dozens of quality-of-life improvements.
