NetEase GamesWhere Winds Meet players in China can now build their own machines, and the new system looks almost exactly like Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s contraption crafting.
The feature arrived on the Chinese servers on November 26 as part of a new update, giving players access to a full mechanical-building system after completing a short quest. From there, they can jump into a construction mode and freely place various components to assemble their own working machines.
Everything from propeller-powered flying crafts, four-wheeled wooden carts, and makeshift rafts can be created, giving players even more freedom when it comes to traversing the game’s new region.
Like Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom steampunk Zonai devices, Where Winds Meet’s makeshift machines also have activation timers and only work for a limited period of time. Players can also export to other players and use blueprints to instantly spawn a machine without needing to rebuild it from scratch.

According to the official posts, the latest update involves the Mo Sect, a group whose followers are known for designing mechanisms, traps, and early machinery. The translated blog posts explain that Mo Sect disciples “studied practical techniques for benefiting people, and became famous throughout the world for their skill in creating ingenious mechanisms.”
So, that explains why players will be able to whizz around the mountainous region on steampunk-style machines and contraptions. As for the rules for joining this machine-loving faction, it looks like players will need to research and test devices.
NetEase GamesAs of writing, the system is only live in the Chinese version, and there’s no confirmation on when global servers will get access. However, it will likely be added after Desert, Snow, and Grassland region updates.
