CygamesUmamusume: Pretty Derby developer Cygames has responded after the game won Best Mobile Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025, beating out Destiny Rising, Persona 5 The Phantom X, Sonic Rumble, and Wuthering Waves.
Umamusume closed out 2025 with Best Mobile Game of the Year at The Game Awards, reflecting a year where the horse girl racer became impossible to ignore. The title spent months dominating timelines, streams, and fan discussions, turning it into one of the most viral games of 2025.
Following their win at this year’s Game Awards, Umamusume developers Cygames have now responded to their victory, thanking fans for their support and promising exciting new content in 2026.

“Receiving an award at a global game awards ceremony is a tremendous joy for us. This is all thanks to the trainers not only in Japan but around the world who have loved Umamusume,” Cygames said via a translated X post.
“The development and operations team is working hard every day to ensure everyone can enjoy it, but being recognized like this is truly delightful and makes us feel even more determined.”
CygamesCygames added that it plans to use the win as motivation moving forward, saying it will continue delivering content that excites players and expands the world of Umamusume together with its community.
To celebrate the win, the devs are also gifting every player a free SSR character. The SSR ticket can be collected via the Present icon in the bottom right corner of the game and used on the Permanent Make a Debut Scout banner, where it guarantees one random SSR character.
