Dexerto / Total WarTotal War has announced a brand new game, Total War: Medieval III, in an epic new trailer, revealing the upcoming title as a “rebirth” of the franchise.
Total War is filled with exciting strategy games that have you managing battles in various points of history, like the Romans, the Mongol invasion, Vikings, Samurai, and even, on occasion, Warhammer’s Space Marines.
Well, after the second iteration was released way back in 2006 (or 2022 for mobile), a brand new Total War Medieval III has been announced.
Total War: Medieval III Announce Trailer released
On December 4, Total War dropped its first announcement trailer for Medieval III, showcasing various kings, rulers, and queens sitting on a throne.
While it didn’t give much information on the game itself, it did reveal that the title is in early pre-development, and highlighted in its blog that fans should “think about it being years away rather than months, meaning we’re just part the opening stages of its long journey.”
Regardless, they explained that they’re using the next evolution of their game ending, Warcore, which will “bring the medieval era to life in ways we’ve previously never been able to achieve.”
Fans of the first and second iterations can expect something pretty different, as the developers have described it: “This isn’t just a sequel; it’s the rebirth of historical Total War.”
What that looks like is yet to be revealed, but thanks to a vision blog, we know you’ll “You pick a realm, seize your glory, and rewrite history – or kneel before it.” They also explained that they want the game to focus on you feeling like the “main character in an RPG game” as you build your very own campaign and forge your own story. So get ready to make some pretty tough choices throughout your journey and take on multiple battles of epic proportions.
