The Game AwardsThe Game Awards 2025 is now behind us, as Geoff Keighley’s spectacle showcased the year’s biggest releases on the biggest stage. Clair Obscur made history by winning the most awards in a single night and taking out the big one, Game of the Year, in the process.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year if you love video games. The Game Awards is a chance to not only celebrate a fantastic year gone by, but also to look ahead and get a glimpse of what’s around the corner.
2025 has been no slouch, with a diverse mix of Game of the Year contenders vying for the crown. From Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to Silent Hill f and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, sensational games kept us all busy over the past 12 months. At The Game Awards 2025, we got a chance to celebrate them all, but only one could win the biggest prize.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned this 2025’s Game of the Year winner, but that’s not all. It won nine awards in total, making it the most successful title in Game Awards history. The record was previously held by The Last of Us Part 2, which won seven awards in 2020.
