Pragmata is an upcoming and mysterious sci-fi game from Capcom coming in 2026. Here’s everything we know about Pragmata all in one place.

Pragmata involves a man in a space suit, a little girl, and a holographic/robotic cat seemingly existing together at the end of the world. While we know the game will be a sci-fi adventure, many details are still being kept under wraps for now. The word comes from the Greek language and refers to ‘things that have been done’ as well as duties and obligations.

Here’s everything we know about the intriguing new game from Capcom, including its release date, platforms, and more.

Pragmata is set to release on April 24, 2026.

Capcom also confirmed during The Game Awards 2025 that it will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, with a demo arriving soon.

What platforms will Pragmata be on?

Pragmata will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. There’s been no word on a PS4, or an Xbox One release.

The newest trailer from The Game Awards showcased more of the game’s combat system.

Additionally, the 2023 Capcom Showcase also featured a gameplay teaser trailer for the title.

At the June 2025 State of Play, Pragmata’s release window was narrowed down to 2026.

Gameplay and setting

We got to go hands-on with Pragmata during Summer Game Fest and it blew us away. From the delightful yet challenging combat to the relationship between Hugh and Diana, there’s a lot to wrap your head around.

Hacking is at the core of the gameplay experience, as each robot enemy has a layer of armor that needs to be disabled before damage can be done. Diana is in control here as you engage in a quick mini-game. Then, Hugh takes control, firing his weapons while targeting weak points.

As for the setting, the game takes place at a lunar research station. The base is in the midst of researching a new material that could revolutionize 3D printing. Naturally, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows here though.

Humans have seemingly vanished so by the time our journey begins, it’s only AI running amok.
