Ninja/Embark StudiosTwitch star Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins has urged Arc Raiders not to follow Fortnite and make things too competitive as it would be “so bad” for it.
Arc Raiders has been one of those end-of-year hits on Twitch, with quite a number of top streamers flocking to it. The game, which has been developed by Embark Studios, is an extraction shooter, but it isn’t as intense as, say, Escape from Tarkov.
It has provided a number of memorable moments already, including the war between HutchMF and BurntPeanut, with each side picking up creators to join their army. Ninja, who has been focused on Arc Raiders, was involved in that too and has enjoyed the comedic sides of things.
However, the former Halo professional does not want the game to go down the same route as Fortnite and become an overly competitive game.
Ninja doesn’t want Arc Raiders to be competitive
“I don’t think that was a bad thing, technically, in Fortnite, but you start putting $1 million tournaments on, and you have these 12-year-olds who can play and all they have to do is play the game 24 hours a day and you just have sweaty people trying to min-max,” Blevins said.
He pointed to Arc Raiders having “no mobility” as a knock on the game from a competitive point of view, saying it would be a “silly” choice to make.
“The second they try to make this game competitive, it would be so bad, I hope there are never tournaments for it. I want them to keep it as casual as possible. They’d better never make this game competitive, ever. Even like joke tournaments,” he continued.

The Twitch star also compared Arc Raiders to PUBG, noting that the latter has been able to have a competitive side because of its vehicle options.
“Also, there’s too much desync for this game to, legitimately, be competitive,” he added.
As noted, Arc Raiders has gotten plenty of love from top streamers. Shroud wanted it to win Game of the Year over Expedition 33, but that hasn’t been the case.
