For this particular test, just the same as the first, only those on PlayStation 5 can join in. There’s no indication of whether PC players will eventually have a separate Beta period.
Crucially, it’s worth noting that registering doesn’t guarantee access. Closed Beta invitations are being sent out via email in a limited capacity, so a degree of luck is involved.
What’s in the Beta?
A few new characters and stages will be available in this second Closed Beta. While the initial test featured six characters, two new additions in Spider-Man and Ghost Rider join for this new period. The full playable roster is now as follows:
- Captain America
- Doctor Doom
- Ghost Rider
- Iron Man
- Ms. Marvel
- Spider-Man
- Star-Lord
- Storm
PlayStation / Arc System WorksThe two new stages drop fighters in front of the iconic X-Mansion along with Savage Land. You’ll be able to enjoy these new stages either online against other real players, or in fights against CPUs.
Spectating will also be supported in the weekend-long Closed Beta, allowing for community-hosted tournaments to be streamed online.
That’s all there is to know about the Closed Beta for now, but rest assured we’ll update you here with any further details or changes as we get closer to the Deccember 5 kickoff.
