With one final surprise to share before 2025 comes to a close, Hollow Knight: Silksong developer Team Cherry has announced DLC for the hit indie game.
Per the studio’s blog announcing the expansion, Sea of Sorrow features new bosses, tools, “and more,” and sees Hornet “voyage across and beneath the salt-stricken seas.”
A trailer for the DLC, dropped on December 16, gives very little away, but Team Cherry says more details will be shared closer to the expansion’s arrival in 2026.
Hollow Knight Silksong updates coming soon
In addition to dropping news about future Silksong content, Team Cherry confirmed it has been working on an updated version of the original Hollow Knight for Nintendo Switch 2.
Higher frame rates, resolutions, and “additional graphical effects” will be included with the update, which will be free for anyone who already owns the original Nintendo Switch version of the game.
All improvements will be available on other platforms when the enhancements arrive on 2026, with PC players already able to test them in beta on Steam and GOG.
Hollow Knight: Silksong, which began as DLC for the original Hollow Knight and eventually became a standalone game, was finally released on September 4, 2025, more than six years after it was originally announced.
