The Game AwardsGeoff Keighley’s gaming spectacle returned for another year, and The Game Awards 2025 is now behind us. While we already had some idea of what to expect, there were plenty of surprises throughout the show.
From the future of the Tomb Raider franchise to a mysterious statue in the desert, there’s been plenty to keep fans guessing in the lead-up, but on December 11, 2025, we finally got some answers.
Alongside awards for the very best games of 2025, the show featured blockbuster announcements shaping the next year. Could we finally see Half-Life 3? Is Persona 6 ready to steal our hearts? What about the next God of War? Well, none of those things actually.

The Game Awards 2025 announcements
The Free Shepherd
Kicking off the pre-show was this new indie game from Frame Interactive Studios.
Decrepit
A spooky first-person soulslike experience.
Audiomech
A flashy rhythm-based bullet hell where “your music is your partner.”
Pragmata gets release date and demo
Not only did Pragmata get a release date, set for April 24, 2026, but a demo is also live now on Steam.
Bradley The Badger
A free-form platformer from a brand new indie studio, Day 4 Night, founded by a lead dev on the Red Dead Redemption team. It also stars actor Evan Peters.
Stupid Never Dies
A third-person beat-em-up with a musically-charged style, coming in 2026. It comes from Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma veterans.
Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic
Opening the main show with an absolute bang was the announcement of a new Star Wars Old Republic game, helmed by the legendary Casey Hudson of KOTOR and Mass Effect fame.
Divinity
That’s right, Larian Studios is gearing up for its “biggest game” ever, even bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3. The desert mystery was finally solved, as a new Divinity game was unveiled.

From one of the creators of Left 4 Dead. Earth was invaded, and humanity was lost in a matter of minutes. Teams of four have to go out to ‘un-break’ the world. Every time you die, you’re reprinted back to life.
Coven of the Chicken Foot
From Wildflower Interactive, a studio formed by Uncharted and Last of Us lead, Bruce Straley, comes a charming adventure where you play as an elderly witch.
Ontos
From the creators of Soma, Fractional Games, comes a new sci-fi game with Andor star Stellan Skarsgård.
Resident Evil Requiem
A new look at Resident Evil Requiem finally confirmed Leon’s presence as a second playable character in the highly anticipated sequel.
Order of the Sinking Star
Next up came Order of the Sinking Star, from Jonathon Blow, creator of Braid and The Witness. It was described as a project 10 years in the making.
Exodus
We finally got another look at Exodus this Game Awards, the epic sci-fi spectacle starring Matthew McConaughey. It got a release window of early 2027.
Warlock: A Dungeons & Dragons game
Led by Tricia Helfer comes Warlock, a new game in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
Control: Resonant
At long last, we got confirmation of the next step in the Remedyverse, as Control: Resonant was unveiled. It’s not Jesse Faden, however, but her brother, Dylan, in focus.
Gang of Dragon
From Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi comes Gang of Dragon starring Ma Dong-seok.
Street Fighter movie trailer
The entire Street Fighter movie cast joined the stage to give us a first look at the 2026 film and it looks crazy in all the best ways.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
A new trailer showed fresh gameplay and gave us a release date of May 29, 2026.
Two new Tomb Raider games
The future of Lara Croft was on full display. Not only is there a 2026 remake of the first Tomb Raider coming, but also a new mainline entry called Tomb Raider: Catalyst.
Forest3
Forest3 showcased a sci-fi future on an overrun Earth.
Ella Mental revealed for Invincible VS
A brand new character, Ella Mental, was revealed for Invincible VS, now set to launch on 30 April, 2026.
Orbitals
Orbitals is a new two-player co-op game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. It boasts a classic anime art style.
Next Diablo 4 expansion
