Larian Studios have officially revealed Divinity, their next game after the incredible success of Baldur’s Gate 3.

The Game Awards 2025 was packed with tons of exciting reveals, from a Control sequel from Remedy to a Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, a spiritual successor to Knights of the Old Republic. But one of the trailers that stole the show came from Larian Studios.

Officially solving the mystery of the bizarre desert statue, they showed off the trailer for Divinity, the sixth entry in the acclaimed RPG series. Here’s everything we know about it so far.

Is there a Divinity release date?

There is currently no official release date for Divinity, but don’t expect it to be released anytime soon. Given that Baldur’s Gate 3 only arrived in 2023 and the sheer scale and scope of Larian’s games, fans will likely have a few more years to wait.

Platforms

Again, it hasn’t been confirmed which platforms the game is being developed for, but PC is guaranteed, as this is where all of the developer’s games launch to begin with.

Baldur’s Gate 3 also got a console version a month or so after it dropped on Steam, and we expect Divinity to follow suit. Depending on when it arrives, it could be on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the next generation of consoles, or both.

Gameplay & story

Statue in Divinity

Divinity is set to be an RPG in a similar vein to BG3 and the previous games in the series, but with “greater breadth & depth than ever before.” The devs have already called it “our biggest, most ambitious RPG yet,” which is really saying something considering how huge their previous game was.

From a story point of view, very little has been revealed so far. All we have so far is the trailer, which showed a man being brutally burned alive before releasing some kind of evil into Rivellon, leaving behind the already infamous, grotesque statue made of wood and corpses.

In the official press release, it was also revealed that Divinity is a “brand new game that doesn’t require experience with previous Larian titles,” although those who played the two Original Sin games will have a better understanding of the world and lore.
