Sandfall InteractiveClair Obscur: Expedition 33’s developers have surprised fans with a free DLC expansion update after winning Best Game of the Year at The Game Awards.
On December 12, Clair Obscur devs released an update to thank players for their support and record-breaking win at The Game Awards. It won nine awards in total, making it the most successful title in TGA history.
As part of the celebration, a new playable area, tougher endgame content, expanded customization, and a suite of quality-of-life improvements have been released.

The biggest addition is Verso’s Drafts, a brand-new environment located on the World Map next to Lumiere and accessible from Act 3, with Esquie’s underwater ability required to reach it. Late-game players also gain new boss battles in the Endless Tower, which features harder variations of iconic encounters from the main story, alongside newly added Luminas and weapons.
There is also a wave of customization and accessibility options, with new costumes for every Expedition member, a fully featured Photo Mode accessible from the pause menu, and the new Lumina Sets system that allows players to save up to 50 loadouts for quick strategy changes.
Sandfall InteractiveAs for quality of life adjustments, players can now leave battles mid-fight, remap controller inputs, adjust HUD scaling, and benefit from improved UI filters. If you’ve yet to collect all journals, well, the “Old Key” quest item in the final area now gives you another chance to collect them all in a single playthrough.
