Arc Raiders removes duck cap after community rally sparked by viral 600-duck clip

Arc Raiders players can finally show off their full duck collections after Embark Studios pushed an update that expands how many rubber ducks appear in the Raider Den.

The change arrived shortly after a player went viral for revealing they had collected more than 600 ducks but could only display nine.

The limit became a running joke in the community and highlighted an unexpected gap between the game’s collectible system and its base customization features. Screenshots of the overflowing inventory spread across Reddit and social platforms earlier in November.

Community frustration led to a quick fix

In the 1.3.0 patch, Embark added a line to the notes confirming the feature was updated. The studio said the Raider Den had been “ducked out,” signaling that players can now fill the space with their entire collection instead of a capped set.

Although the change is cosmetic, it immediately resonated with fans who had spent hundreds of hours gathering ducks during matches and extraction runs. Many players had pushed for the fix since launch, arguing that the collectibles carried little weight without a way to display them properly.

The update does not alter gameplay balance or the rate at which ducks appear, but it gives completionists and cosmetic collectors a meaningful way to show progress. Players have already begun sharing screenshots of dens packed wall to wall with ducks.
