Fortnite players roast “terrible” Doc Brown Back to the Future skin

Doc Brown skin in Fortnite

A Back to the Future crossover is coming to Fortnite, but fans aren’t impressed with the recently announced Doc Brown skin, which they say looks nothing like the iconic character.

Winterfest 2025 is finally underway, bringing with it a cabin full of presents to open and, of course, collaborations. Epic Games have announced a ton of familiar faces and franchises coming to the game, including the Bleach anime and even Back to the Future.

Fans of the iconic movie were over the moon to finally drive a Delorean around the map and play as their favorite characters. However, after getting a look at the Doc Brown skin arriving on December 23, some player are rethinking their purchase.

Fortnite players baffled as Doc Brown skin looks nothing like him

Epic Games revealed the skin in an X post showing all of the upcoming releases, which confirmed that the item won’t use the likeness of actor Christopher Lloyd. But this wasn’t the biggest complaint, as many fans took to social media to joke about his bizarre appearance.

“THAT’S supposed to be Doc Brown?” asked one player on Reddit. “I can understand not being able to get Christopher Lloyd’s likeness, but…that just looks terrible, honestly.”

The replies weren’t much kinder, with some saying it looks more like other actors than everyone’s favorite mad scientist.

Looks like Jim Carey playing Doc Brown in a skit,” wrote user, while another added: “He reminds me of Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice. Has a dead look on his face.”

“We have Doc Brown at home,” joked a third.

However, as some fans pointed out, although there’s an uncanny valley quality to the skin in the trailer, it might look better when it actually arrives in-game. Trailers can occasionally be overly compressed or miss out key textures, so Doc Brown might end looking more like, well, Doc Brown.
