Over the years, we’ve seen countless famous characters from popular culture arrive in Fortnite, from Darth Vader to Ariana Grande. But after the 39.10 update on December 11, there have been sightings of one most unexpected figures of them all.
Bigfoots, also known as sasquatches, are mythical creatures said to live in forests. At least, they were considered mythical until the now infamous footage taken in 1967 by enthusiasts Roger Patterson and Robert “Bob” Gimlin convinced many they’re actually real.
There have been countless arguments and theories over the years, but while your chances of spotting one in real life are slim, their presence in Fortnite is far from a hoax.
After the most recent update went live, fans began reporting that Bigfoot was wandering the map. Ironically, given the name, he appears to be tiny and easy to miss.
Where is Bigfoot in Fortnite?
There is currently no set location where you can find him, as the spawns are completely random and he has a number of different routes he can follow. He’s also completely invincible to damage and vanishes if you get within 35 meters.
This isn’t the first time that the creature has appeared in Fortnite, as a Bigfoot skin was added to the store all the way back in 2019. However, he hasn’t been seen as an NPC until now.
It’s not clear right now if this is just a fun Easter egg for players to track down, or if Bigfoot has a larger role to play in Epic Games’ plans.
The last time we saw something like this in Fortnite was The Wanderer, who arrived in Chapter 5 Season 3 and behaved in a very similar way. This hooded figure turned out to be signaling the arrival of Doctor Doom, who served as the main villain of the next season.

So, while it could be nothing, the small saquatch could easily play a part in the game’s story going forward, whether it’s in Chapter 7 Season 2 or the upcoming Winterfest event.
