OreoOreo is finally going zero sugar. After four years of development, the iconic cookie brand is launching its first-ever Zero Sugar Cookies and it’s arriving in the US come January in both regular and Double Stuf.
Mondelez announced the lineup on December 9, confirming the new cookies will be a permanent addition to Oreo’s catalog. Each cookie features a redesigned wafer with “Zero Sugar” stamped into the chocolate, marking the first major look change for the brand in years.
According to USA Today, Mondelez spent roughly four years perfecting the formula to make sure the sugar-free version still tastes like a classic Oreo. The company says the cookies are aimed at fans who want “indulgence without sugar,” without drifting into diet-cookie territory.
What are Zero Sugar Oreos made of?
The new recipe avoids aspartame entirely. Instead, Oreo Zero Sugar Cookies use maltitol, polydextrose, sucralose, and ace-k for sweetness. The packaging is also getting an overhaul. Instead of the standard plastic tray, Zero Sugar Oreos will come in a resealable stand-up pouch.
Each cookie lands at about 45 calories, while a regular Oreo sits closer to 53. Bags of 20 cookies are available early on Oreo’s website for $5.29 ahead of the wider January 2026 rollout.
OreoOreo has been pushing into experimental territory over the last few years. In 2024, the brand teamed with Coca-Cola to swap flavors, creating Coke-flavored Oreos and Oreo-inspired soda.
More recently, Oreo dropped a viral Thanksgiving lineup featuring flavors like Pumpkin Pie, Cranberry Sauce, Turkey & Stuffing, Creamed Corn, Sweet Potato, and Caramel Apple Pie.
