Ellum allegations explained: CaptainPuffy accuses streamer of emotional and financial abuse
Twitter: EllumYTStreamer Ellum has been accused of emotional manipulation, financial exploitation, and career abuse by fellow creator CaptainPuffy, who shared a detailed public statement outlining her experience in their past relationship.
Ellum is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer, with over 100,000 subscribers and 200,000 followers, respectively. Originally from the UK, he now lives and streams from Los Angeles. When living in the UK, he had a relationship with another content creator, CaptainPuffy, and rumors have spread that they broke up because of cheating on Ellum’s part.
However, in a document posted publicly on December 16, CaptainPuffy said the situation had been misrepresented online and went beyond infidelity. “I am sharing this now because what happened has been reduced online to ‘just cheating.’ It was not. It was emotional manipulation, financial and career exploitation, and behavior that was intentional and later admitted to.”
CaptainPuffy alleged that Ellum repeatedly ignored clear personal and professional boundaries, including making their relationship public without consent. She said her family learned about the relationship through social media rather than directly.
“My own mother found out we were dating from a YouTube Short,” she wrote.
According to the statement, Ellum frequently used CaptainPuffy in his content without asking, sometimes interrupting her own livestreams so she could appear in his videos.
She said this dynamic benefited his channel while she received no compensation. “It became clear very early on that my boundaries mattered less than views,” she wrote, adding that the videos remain on his channel.

She also described significant financial strain, claiming she covered nearly all shared living costs while also managing household responsibilities. “We lived in a very expensive apartment that I covered almost entirely,” she said, adding that “the only bill he consistently paid was the water bill.”

CaptainPuffy further alleged that Ellum exploited her generosity, intentionally hinting at expensive gifts and framing his past relationships in a way that pressured her into spending money on him.
She also accused him of inappropriate behavior with other women, including regularly messaging smaller streamers in ways she described as flirtatious. When confronted, she said he dismissed her concerns and accused her of being controlling. She claimed he continued despite her objections and said, “At one point, he even said that if he cheated on me, at least he would get clout from it.”
In the statement, CaptainPuffy also raised concerns about Ellum’s treatment of her dog, Pudding, alleging neglect while she was away. She said he failed to let the dog out for most of the day, did not cover care costs, and left the home in poor condition. Despite this, she noted the dog remains an emote on his channel.
CaptainPuffy said the impact of the relationship extended beyond her personal life and directly affected her career. “This relationship did not just hurt, it derailed me,” she wrote. “Something I loved for the better part of a decade became tied to trauma.”
She concluded by explaining why she chose to speak publicly now, stating that remaining silent had not helped her heal. “This was not just cheating. It was emotional torment, manipulation, and intentional financial and career exploitation until there was nothing left for him to benefit.”
On December 16, Ellum went live on his Twitch channel, but has removed the VOD, so it is not available. He has not issued a public response at the time of writing.
