BlizzardWhich Diablo Immortal character should you choose? Here’s a breakdown of every class ranked for PVP and PVE with Diablo Immortal’s tier lists.
As in other games like Diablo 3, some characters stand out more than others depending on the Season. With Diablo Immortal now, it’s time to break down the game‘s characters into Diablo Immortal’s tier lists and work out who’s the best demon slayer – at least for this season.
We’ve ranked each of the classes in Diablo Immortal, then provided a tier list of which builds work best for both PVP and PVE. Our tier list also reflects the game’s most recent balance changes, which affected some of the available classes.
This way, not only will you be able to select the best characters, you’ll know exactly where to use them.
Blizzard EntertainmentBest class tier list for PvE
| Tier | Class |
|---|---|
| S-Tier | Druid, Crusader, Necromancer |
| A-Tier | Barbarian, Tempest, Demon Hunter |
| B-Tier | Blood Knight, , Monk |
| C-Tier | Wizard |
At the very top you’ve got the Barbarian, Crusader, and Necromancer. The Barbarian spins faster now, carving through mobs with that new Whirlwind bonus. The Crusader is still speeding around on horseback, hoovering up dungeons in record time. And the Necromancer? Safe, steady, and always reliable, letting the minions do all the dirty work.
Just underneath are the Demon Hunter and the Tempest. The Demon Hunter finally feels exciting, with traps that actually sting and make farming worthwhile. Tempest still has its flashy bursts and quick clears, but without new buffs it slips into second place.
In the middle you’ll find the Blood Knight and the Monk. The Blood Knight hits harder now, but it’s still a bit one note. The Monk has its trademark mobility, dashing here and there, but struggles to deliver the damage to keep up with the pack.

And at the bottom, the Wizard. Fragile, fiddly, and slow compared to everyone else, it’s once again trailing behind no matter how hard it tries.
Best Classes for PvP
| Tier | Class |
|---|---|
| S-Tier | Crusader, Barbarian |
| A-Tier | Necromancer, Demon Hunter |
| B-Tier | Monk, Druid, Blood Knight, Tempest |
| C-Tier | Wizard |
At the top, it’s still the Crusader and Barbarian. The Crusader has new tricks, the Barbarian’s Whirlwind hits harder, and both remain the bosses of frontline fights.
Just below are the Necromancer and Demon Hunter. Necro keeps its control game, while DH finally shines with Sentry and trap buffs.
In the middle sit the Blood Knight, Monk, and Druid. Blood Knight has sharper tools, Monk is mobile but shallow, and Druid is tougher yet still inconsistent.
At the bottom, the Wizard stays fragile and forgotten, never quite catching up to the rest.
Our tiers explained
Here is a shorthand for how each tier breaks down:
- S-tier: The best characters in the game
- A-tier: Very good characters offering an alternative to other options
- B-tier: There might be situations where these characters can perform well
- C-tier: Best to avoid unless you find yourself drawn to them
Bear in mind, that this is simply based on the current rankings and is liable to change next season. As you can see, just because a character is effective in PVE doesn’t mean they’re as useful in PVP and vice versa.
Blood Knight and Tempest are the newest characters we’ve added as they weren’t available at launch, and we’ll be sure to add more once new classes are available.
Diablo Immortal classes breakdown
Here’s an explanation of each character class and an appraisal of how effective they are this season, in both PvE and PvP.
Druid
DexertoThe Druid brings mobility, disruption, and survivability to PvP, using fast combos and crowd control to keep enemies off balance.
It has the tools to tank damage, reposition quickly, and punish overextended opponents, making it a strong pick in skilled hands, especially for PvE.
However, the latest meta shift has pushed it down slightly, as Barbarian and Wizard dominate the spotlight with raw power and consistency. While still viable, the Druid now feels more situational, rewarding experienced players who can maximize its toolkit rather than standing out as a clear favorite.
Barbarian
Blizzard EntertainmentThe Barbarian is the most powerful physical fighter in Diablo Immortal and has mastery over axes and heavy weapons. They’re reliable in PvE this season and top of the tree when it comes to PvE. We don’t think the class will move too far down the meta anytime soon as they’re a solid choice for all playstyles.
Necromancer
Blizzard EntertainmentThe Necromancer is the classic summoner class that uses skeletons and golems to support them in battle while they blast enemies with bone and blood magic. The class generally performs well this season in terms of PvE and PvP, ranked as S and A in both metas, respectively. For those who can’t live without minions, this class will still serve you well.
Wizard
Activision BlizzardThe Wizard is Diablo Immortal’s answer to the Sorcerer, a glass cannon that hangs back and hurls devastating spells. In practice, it still struggles to find its place. While it can clear groups of enemies in PvE with AoE setups, it falls behind the faster and sturdier farming options this season. In PvP, the Wizard remains one of the weakest picks, too fragile to survive sustained fights. It’s a fun caster archetype, but compared to the top-tier classes, it feels more like a niche choice than a reliable one.
Monk
Blizzard EntertainmentReturning from Diablo 3, the Monk uses martial arts to destroy their enemies and can be deadly in close combat. They’re quite low on the PvE meta this season but can still do some damage in PvP when in the right hands. However, better classes are available this season. Don’t be afraid to use them though, the Monk has been top of the meta in both PvP and PvE in Diablo Immortal many times.
Crusader
Blizzard EntertainmentThe Crusader is Diablo Immortal’s holy warrior, striking down enemies with heavy swords and shields while protected by dense armor. This season it remains one of the most dominant classes in both PvP and PvE, gaining even more utility with new crowd control and aura effects. Fast clears, strong durability, and unmatched presence in team fights keep Crusader firmly in S-Tier. Alongside the newly boosted Barbarian and the ever-reliable Necromancer, it stands at the top of the current meta.
Demon Hunter
The Demon Hunter returns from Diablo 3.The Demon Hunter is the rogue class in Diablo Immortal, relying on traps, crossbows, and knives to cut through enemies. This season, it’s in a stronger spot than before, with big buffs to Sentry, Smoke Screen, and trap stacking pushing it higher in both PvE and PvP. Demon Hunter now sits in A-Tier across the board, offering powerful options whether you’re playing solo or with a team. The tradeoff hasn’t changed, though: it’s still fragile, and getting caught by crowd control can be fatal.
Blood Knight
Blizzard EntertainmentThe Blood Knight thrives on vampiric powers and agile hit-and-run tactics, giving it a distinctive playstyle in PvP.
This season, the class has improved slightly thanks to buffs to its spear and armor-shatter abilities, which add more consistency to its damage. Even so, its limited team utility and lack of reliable sustain hold it back from the top tiers. With Crusader, Barbarian, and the newly improved Demon Hunter setting the pace in the current meta, the Blood Knight struggles to keep up. It’s better than before and worth experimenting with, but it remains more of a niche option than a dominant force.
Tempest
Blizzard Entertainment The Tempest was added to Diablo Immortal in 2024 and quickly made a name for itself in PvE, once sitting at the very top of the meta. It’s still effective this season, with its mix of AOE spells and temporary minions giving it strong burst clears and mobility. But with the Barbarian’s Whirlwind buffs and the Crusader’s speed farming dominance, Tempest no longer feels like the automatic S-Tier pick. It’s strong, just not the defining force it used to be.
Take the rankings into consideration, but most of all, play with the characters you most enjoy. Remember to check out our Best builds for all character classes guide.
