ActivisionTreyarch have claimed that cheats for Black Ops 7 are “unusable” as their Ricochet anti-cheat has clamped down during the open beta weekend.
Hacking in Call of Duty games has become an increasing problem over the last few years, especially since the addition of Warzone. With players turning their backs on the franchise due to the rising cheaters in the battle royale, the developers moved to add their Ricochet anti-cheat.
The anti-cheat has, at times, been a success for CoD. Hundreds of thousands of hackers have been banned, cheat sellers have been shut down, and they’ve tightened security protocols along the way.
However, Call of Duty fans were left scratching their heads when, during the first part of the Black Ops 7 beta, cheaters managed to crack things with wall hacks and aimbots.
Viral clips were shared online, giving Treyarch and the CoD team plenty of questions. However, they’ve got answers. As the open part of the Black Ops 7 beta got underway, Team Ricochet responded to the clips and revealed some of the numbers behind their new clampdown.
“97% of cheaters were stopped within 30 minutes of their first sign-in,” the devs said. “Fewer than 1% of cheating attempts reached a match, and those who did were removed within minutes.”
“Major cheat providers are now labeling their tools “unusable” or “detected.” Resellers are acknowledging they have no reliable products to offer for Black Ops 7.
“We’re not only disabling their cheats, but also their illegal businesses as well. We have now directly contributed to the closure of over 40 cheat developers and resellers since Black Ops 6 launched,” they continued.

On top of that, the devs said that the clips of cheats being used in-game were shared long after the accounts were already banned.
“We’re watching closely, acting in real time, and learning from every attempt,” they added, noting that they will “pursue them (cheat sellers) beyond in-game enforcement.”
