ActivisionBlack Ops 7 players on Xbox and PlayStation have been reporting low FPS and stuttering issues ever since the game launched, and a dev has now replied.
Since BO7 arrived on November 14, social media has been flooded with console players saying the game is “unplayable” due to frame drops and stutters. Xbox Series X and PS5 Pro seem to have the most complaints, with it being most common on the 120Hz mode, but some have said it happens on 60Hz too.
“It’s been 5 days and this game is still a stuttery, unstable mess on the Series X,” said one player on Reddit, with dozens of comments echoing the same issue. They’re not alone, as there have been several other posts, with one calling it “literally unplayable.”
Players have also been tweeting the TreyarchCM account, which has now confirmed they’re investigating the issue.
Treyarch investigating BO7 console performance issues
“We’re investigating this issue and we’re curious what specific maps and modes you encounter this most on,” replied the account to several players. “If you can, please capture video of this happening with the Server Latency and Packet Loss Telemetry Widgets enabled in the Interface Settings.”
When one player confirmed it’s happening on every map and mode, they asked for further details, such as 120Hz being enabled or anything that could trigger it, such as calling in Scorestreaks. They confirmed they have 120Hz enabled, and the issue happens all the time, but we haven’t heard any more.
So, while we don’t have a timeframe for when these issues could be fixed yet, the devs have confirmed they’re aware.

They also addressed other changes coming to the game soon, such as an increase in aim assist and SMG buffs.
These changes are expected in the Season 1 update, which is set for early December, and usually comes with several bug fixes. In the meantime, we’ll update you on any updates around console performance.
