DexertoWhen it comes to close-range duels, SMGs dominate Warzone’s meta. For this reason, using a powerful submachine gun equipped with the best loadout is a must to win more games.
While meta Assault Rifles and LMGs are great options for long-range gunfights, this class is far superior up close. Not only do they kill faster, but they also offer better mobility and handling for getting the jump on enemies.
Season 1 saw Warzone fully integrate with Black Ops 7, adding a new lineup of SMGS as well as various buffs and nerfs that have shaken up the meta. So, here are the best SMGs to help you rack up kills and win more matches.
Best SMG loadouts in Warzone
1. MPC-25
Activision- Magazine: MPC Overload Drum
- Underbarrel: Zero Shift Handstop
- Barrel: 14.5″ Vas Ashe Barrel
- Fire Mods: Recoil Sync Unit
- Muzzle: Kas Compensator
The MPC-25 takes the crown as the best SMG in Warzone after the Season 1 update, mostly for its incredible damage output. It has one of the best TTKs in the entire category as well as one of the strongest first damage ranges, giving you the best bang for your buck.
On top of all that, it also boasts great mobility, making it easier to outmaneuver enemies using quick reflexes. Make sure to check out the best MPC-25 loadout to get the most out of it.
2. Ryden 45K
Activision- Magazine: Torch 40 Round Mag
- Underbarrel: Lateral Precision Grip
- Stock: Ventral Stock
- Rear Grip: Lennox Grip
- Muzzle: Hawker Series 45
The Ryden 45K is another excellent SMG, with its main strength being its blistering fire rate. This gives it a rapid TTK in close-quarters fights, and its low recoil means it can hold its own all the way out to 20 meters.
There aren’t many weaknesses to mention, and the only reason it finds itself in second place is its comparatively low mid-range damage compared to the MPC-25. Still, this is a top-tier sniper support weapon, especially with the right loadout.

3. Kogot-7
Activision- Magazine: Vex Expanse Mag
- Underbarrel: VAS Drift Lock Foregrip
- Barrel: 13.5″ Canis-05 Barrel
- Fire Mods: Buffer Spring
- Muzzle: Hawker Series 45
While the other guns on this list are here for being easy to use, the Kogot-7 comes with a high skill ceiling. However, if you can learn its nuances, it can be the deadliest SMG in the game.
What it lacks in range and accuracy, it makes up for with raw power. It has a very fast fire rate and an impressive damage output, making it perfect for quickly clearing buildings or sneaking up behind enemy teams.
4. Razor 9mm
Activision- Magazine: Strikeface Extended Mag I
- Underbarrel: EAM Steady-90 Grip
- Barrel: 13″ RL-Genesys Barrel
- Rear Grip: Haste Ribbed Grip
- Muzzle: H-9mm Precision Comp
Take everything we just said about the Kogot-7 and double it for the Razor 9mm. With an unbelievable fire rate, this SMG has one of the fastest TTKs in Warzone, but the only tricky part is achieving it consistently during a match.
Not only does it lack the mobility of the guns on the list, it also has a very limited range. But if you play to its strengths, use the meta loadout, and hit your shots, very few weapons kill faster.
5. C9
Dexerto- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Magazine: Extended Mag 1
- Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
The C9 has been one of the best SMGs in Warzone for some time and it’s still top-tier in Season 1, despite the new guns taking over. Its main strength is its lack of weaknesses, being a remarkably well-rounded weapon that is as versatile as it is effective.
It also just feels really good, as its low recoil and clean iron sights make it easier to use than any other option in the current meta.
Just be sure to equip the Vertical Foregrip to reduce horizontal recoil. Otherwise, this C9 loadout will bounce around a lot and be hard to keep on target in those stressful moments.

Meta analysis
ActivisionBlack Ops 7 guns are comfortably the best weapons in Warzone right now, and the MPC-25 stands out above all other close-range options. Whether you want an aggressive powerhouse to clear buildings or a sniper support that covers you at mid-range, look no further.
However, you also have the option to use the Ryden 4K, Kogot-7, and Razor 9mm, all of which are strong options right now. They each have their own strengths, so it’s worth giving these guns a go and seeing what works best for you. After all, the margins between them are extremely tight, so there’s no incorrect choice.
The only Black Ops 6 gun that’s still competitive is the C9, thanks to its all-around reliability. It may get outgunned in certain situations by the newer SMGs, but you won’t find yourself at a major disadvantage.
